HORROR MOVIE REVIEW

summary
Black Friday Shopping goes extremely wrong and causes absolute chaos. Multiple killed and injured that night and it went viral everywhere on social media, making the store hated. One year later when Black Friday is about to return a masked killer finds his first target due to the previous year. John Carter was printed as a mask and given to the town from the popular diner everyone goes to. Making this mask extraordinarily perfect for their scheme to get revenge. 6 Teenage friends get tagged on Instagram, a picture with a table and placements with their names on each chair. Later when the killer brutally decapitates his victim, the same 6 teenagers are tagged again but this time the image is updated. The were shocked to see a decapitated head at the same table their names were at, meaning that the killer wanted them there next. They come to realized everyone involved with the Black Friday night were being target, they just never knew who was next or even why. With the town in worry, the teens must figure out with the police who is getting targeted next! But absolutely no one is trusted.

Recently we went on a school trip to see the Thanksgiving. This movie was a definite 5 stars from me! It’s a horror comedy, I overall had more laughs than scares. All the main characters are likeable, and you grow attachments to them then unfortunately SOME are killed by the masked killer.
The storyline was a bit confusing and there were some potholes that were never discussed. Me and a couple friends had brief arguments about whether there are multiple killers, and one was just never revealed leading into maybe another movie?
I enjoyed that the movie was very modernized. Usually, movies try and direct a movie in a teenager’s eye and failed but I feel like Thanksgiving nailed it perfectly!
Obviously, this movie had kills and LET ME TELL YOU!! These kills all were jaw dropping. I screamed at some of the kills because of how extreme they were. Some of the kills made me mad but not because of how he killed them but what they did after the killer was attacking them. Some of them acted dumb! We were in the theater YELLING at them to get up and RUN but as you know… us screaming wasn’t going to change anything lol. ME PERSONALLY, I would go out with a complete fight! I would never let someone trying to literally end my LIFE kill me as easy as most of them were getting killed. But I will admit some of those kills were inescapable. The kills seen in the trailer weren’t even the best of them. One of my favorites was the cheerleader’s death. (IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW!)
My honest only flaws for the movie was that it was sort of a ‘Who did it?’ but they only really tried to point it to the main characters love interests. Also, without spoiling it, the killer was kind of expected by me. Throughout the movie I didn’t really point a finger because movies like to make you feel like it’s one person so that you can focus on just that person and be surprised by the actual killer. I wanted to have an open by about EVERYONE! I didn’t trust anyone but towards the end, I figured out who it was before it was revealed. Another was I didn’t like who the killer was, and I also didn’t like their motive because it wasn’t really explained. I wish they went more into depth about it.
I asked a couple of my friends that I was sitting with what they rated the movie. Here’s the responses:
Natalya Cottman – 9.7/10 “IT WAS SO FUNNY I LOVED IT”
Manuel Martinez – 8.5/10 “I wouldn’t watch it again, but it was good.”
Mariel Torres – 10/10 “I was surprised because usually horror movies aren’t my thing, but it was really good.”
Overall, the movie was great, and I definitely recommend watching. It was funny, jaw dropping, scary, intriguing, and fun to watch with friends.
